Maligne River is very High with Moose Enjoying the Water
Maligne River that flows from Maligne Lake, and then Medicine Lake is the highest we've seen it since 2012. You can see some of the trees affected by a forest fire in 2015 that was ignited by a lightning strike on Canada Day of that Year. The precipitation and water flow has helped to green this area up very quickly in just a few years. It is suspected that these areas now offering more open green space is allowing animals like Grizzly Bears and Moose to take advantage of more nutrition for longer periods than in the past. A Moose is seen here enjoying some of the vegetation in water not normally in that particular area this time of year.
